Company History

VisionAIR began working with local law enforcement agencies in 1989 providing solutions to meet their mission-critical needs. Working directly with officers and administrators, we developed the first law enforcement records management software package in North Carolina designed specifically for personal computers. Our software was the first to offer state-specific IBASE electronic reporting with the integration of state incident, arrest, and accident forms. We pioneered the use of the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) and the state-specific approach to law enforcement records management software.

We realized that there was a tremendous need within the public safety community for affordable, user-friendly software that would automate time-consuming tasks and ensure accuracy in statistics and reporting. VisionAIR became synonymous with client service, and within two years VisionAIR was one of the fastest growing providers of public safety software.

In 1991, the original DOS-based version of our Law Enforcement Records Management System was developed. State-specific versions followed, and VisionAIR began to expand outside the state of North Carolina. The DOS-based version of VisionCAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) was released in 1993. In 1995, VisionAIR made two landmark decisions: one, to move to the Windows® platform, completely rewriting its applications; and two, to enter the wireless arena, developing a mobile data solution for law enforcement. Within two years, Windows-based VisionCAD and VisionRMS debuted in the Alpharetta, GA Police Department and VisionMOBILE in the Lawrenceville, GA Police Department.

In 2003, VisionAIR launched another ground-breaking initiative with VisionCONNECT, an innovative platform designed to enable data sharing, integration, and interoperability within and across public safety agencies.
